How can I make money in Northern Ireland during my study abroad?

I'm studying abroad in Belfast next fall, and because i'm only going to be in the country for 3 months, I can't get a work permit. I have A TON of experience in child care (babysitting, working at a summer camp for 5 years +, majoring in child psychology and youth studies, etc).


Are there cash-paying nanny or babysitter jobs available? How do I find one? Or are there restaurants/bars/pubs that hire without permits?? Thanks in advance for any information :)

You haven't even got here yet and you are Soliciting to break the law of our land, The Reason you cannot work here is because you have been given a Visa for Educational purposes that does not permit you to work, But instead of being grateful for that you endeavor to take the bread out of someone in Northern Irelands mouth by taking away their jobs. We Elect our political representatives in Northern Ireland to make laws to protect us We respect those who respect our laws, Those who do not respect our laws should perhaps go Elsewhere.
Reply:Hi - It would be very unlikely that you would get a job in childcare as I have a few friends who work in this field and it is very very strict, you would have to be paid through the books and have rigorous background checks done (They usually require 5 references) so you wouldn't be able to get cash-in-hand jobs, which is a pity as you are really well qualified.


You will however have no problem in getting restaurant and bar work that pays cash-in-hand.


I have attached a couple of good recruitment websites for here, and when you arrive you can contact any potential employers and ask them if they would be prepared to take on a temp for 3 months.

Reply:There might be lists of available jobs on local newspapers and stuff or if you're seriously stuck and broke, sell stuff on the internet..XD...xxx
Reply:Judging from your experience / qualifications in child care i reckon you should not have a problem in finding some part time baby sitting jobs... word of mouth should probably do the trick in terms of landing some jobs, just through people you know and will get to know... cash would be paid so the work permit thing shouldnt be a problem.
