does anyone know of any good study abroad programs or Spanish Immersion programs?

Has anyone been through a programs and could tell me their thoughts on it?

What language schools are good and what are the best countries to go?

A really good study abroad program would be The Experiment in International Living. It's not like a scientific experiment on humans or anything. You get to choose a country you want to go to (a lot of them are Spanish-speaking) and you stay with a host family or community for about half of your trip. The length, location, and objective of the trip are your choice. You can do community service, theater and arts, ecological studies, and a lot more.

Here's the website:

Reply:i went to italy with afs for a summer. that's american field service and i think their website is afs.org. i had a GREAT time...you do have to go through a lot of orientation things which was sort of annoying but with good intentions...they definitely have opportunities in spanish-speaking counries. if you are in college, usually they have a lot of study abroad information available. i hear rotary and ies are also reputable.
Reply:you could travel to a country where the Spanish language is spoken, also this country has to be cheaper, safe and you could safe money there. I recommend to travel to Cusco (Peru) where you also could know amazing arqueological monuments like Machupicchu, living with a Peruvian Family and know new people.
Reply:I went to Madrid, La Universidad Complutense en la Facultad de FilologĂa has a great program. I took it back in 92 and it was awesome. It covered much more than just learning the language (history, politics even music) in a very fun easy curriculum. I made friends from Japan, UK, Chicago, TX and even Finland. In my opinion Spain is the best place, after all, where does the language come from? And Madrid is a fun, diverse, hip city that will give any student one of the best experiences of their life.
