Is there any kind of financial aid available to students who wish to study abroad?

I'm wanting to study medicine abroad, but am in need of Financial aid as it is. Is it possible to get financial aid for this type of education?

It might be worth it to check into the Rotary Club scholarships. They give out quite a bit of money each year to help people study abroad. The first person is right though. If going only for a while, like a semester, in the US you are still considered to be enrolled in your school. You should still be eligible for financial aid.
Reply:It probably depends on how you go about doing it. If you are currently attending a university and wish to take courses abroad in another country, you should be able to find different scholarships and/or bursaries on your uni´s website that specificaly apply to students studying abroad. I know at my uni, any student who decides to go abroad for 1 year will automaticaly receieve $1000. That isnt a lot just by itself, but there are also other awards available.

I know that in Canada, if we decide to go abroad through a university, we are still considered to be enrolled in our home uni, and can therefore ask for financial aid from the government.
