How to work and/or study abroad after college?

Are there any fun and inexpensive ways to either work and/or study abroad short-term after college? I don't plan on living abroad for a long time at this point... I would just like to stay abroad for a long enough time to get a feel of the country, maybe a year or two at the most. I would also be open to traveling from country to country within this time frame. It would be nice to be able to work part-time while I'm abroad to make some money and meet people. I'd like to go somewhere that has good public safety and friendly people. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you looked into the Peace Corps at all? I have a close friend who is currently serving with them. It's volunteering, but they give you an allowance that is enough to live on. Also when you complete the time, they give you a few thousand dollars to get up and going in the US again. While you're gone, your student loan payments are put on hold. Its a great thing to consider, looks awesome on a resume, and from what I hear...can be a wonderful experience. the website is www.peacecorps.com
