I am seriously considering studying abroad one semester either sophmore or junior year in high school to either Argentina, Brazil, or Spain. Does anyone have any experience with AFS programs in these countries or just with AFS in general?? Would Brazil or Argentina be dangerous?

AFS is a sound program. Others you might consider would be Aspect, Rotary (cheapest, but most competitive) and YFU. All are reputable. A semester abroad is a great idea, a year is better!
As to which country, that depends upon you. I've known both Brasilian and Argentinan students and both countries are great places. You will probably have more use for Spanish than Portuguese if you wish to work in the U.S. so that might be a consideration for you.
