Should I study abroad in Ecuador or Spain?

I have the opportunity to study abroad for the spring semester next year and I definitely want to go, but I can't choose which country. They're both equally amazing choices in my mind. Opinions? (And yes, these are my only options.)

Should I study abroad in Ecuador or Spain?
I recomend you spain way? becouse is called la madre patria (mother country) here is were the spanish lenguage born, is a wanderful country rich in culture and warn people, the only thing negative righ now is that the euros is higer than dollar you have to pay almost 1.50 for each euros, food, rent, and transporation are also very expensive.

Ecuador in other hand is a wanderfull land too, not than sofisticate than a eurpena country but is a very nice place to visit and live, you we learn very good spainish there, ecuator people dont have to much accent like mexican and cuban, and best than all everything is very cheap, from food, transportation and rent. Also fly there are more cheper than europe.
Reply:Spain, definitely - it's a wonderful European country, in healthy socio-economic conditions, fantastic culture, fun and passionate people, good food, beaches, dancing, drinking, singing, parties, ........ all the good things. :) Also, it's in Europe -- sooo you can travel to a number of interesting places and countries easily and comfortably. There's a common monetary unit (the euro) anywhere you go in Europe, so you won't have to convert currencies every day. There is a very big and rich international community... It'll be easy and fun to adapt to. :)
Reply:I will recommend you Spain, it is a great country to go to, and the education level is excellent, and I believe is higher than in Ecuador.

In Spain you will have the opportunity to know a different culture, while living in one of the best countries in Europe, it is also a country with a good economy.
Reply:Lucky! Well, with Spain you would be in probably one of the friendliest and most beautiful European countries and could do some traveling in Spain and other European countries depending on your budget. I'm sure you've researched it a lot, but just a reminder, parts of Spain don't speak Spanish they speak Catalan which is something to keep in mind. However, even though it's one of the less expensive countries in Europe, the Euro is still stronger than the dollar and the dollar is getting weaker.

I've never been to Ecuador so I would go there. It's cheaper and the Spanish you learn in school (if you're from the U.S., sorry I shouldn't assume!) is generally more similar to that of the Spanish spoken in South America. The Galapagos islands are near and it's probably cheaper to travel around Ecuador and into neighboring countries. Although recently Ecuador is having problems with Colombia, so I'm not sure how safe it is. It's also a bigger difference culturally which would be pretty exciting.

Whichever you choose, have a blast and go all out!!

  1. I'm Ecuadorian, so I am biased. But that aside, the good things about Ecuador: the safest country in SA (except for a few Km bordering line with Colombia); you can go from the Amazon rainforest to the beach in a matter of hours (by car), crossing over the Andes mountains; the one thing everyone agrees with about Ecuador is its wonderful people [just read the many blogs around :)]; Spanish schools are very good. Good luck!
