Study abroad???

Eventhough I have lived in other countries before and speak several languages, I have never tried to study abroad. I am trying to learn Russian and would like to be able to go to Russia for a couple of weeks or months to study. Money is not a problem for me, and neither is time. Does any one have any suggestions on a certain school they would recomend? Also, tips on where to begin would really help. Has anyone ever studied abroad? If so, tips on what to expect would also help. Where should I start? How far ahead of time should I get the VISA?

Study abroad???
Start with the next Russian Consulate or with the Embassy, if closer.

They will be able to tell you the legal requirements and where to look for schools. They can as well tell you the time it takes to get the visa.

This covers the official information.

Additionally I suggest to talk with your Russian teacher. He or she should know about exchange programs and language schools and be capable of advising you.
Reply:It depends what you expect or want. "Study abroad" covers quite a lot of meanings.

Do you want to study abroad in a language school or at a university in order to learn the local language`? Or are you going abroad to study your subject (economics, medicine, etc) in a foreign country?

If you just started learning Russian and simply want to go to Russia for an immersion programme, your best bet is a local language school in Moscow or St. Petersburg. Apply for a long-term residence visa at the Russian embassy, then go to Russia and shop around locally. The large majority of language schools in Russia do not have a website, but you should easily be able to find them through newspapers and word of mouth once you are there. You can also easily hire a private teacher, if money is no problem for you.
Reply:i am not sure that i can you properly but i want tell you that i am studying in high school my class teacher is an ex-military officer.he told me that he has spend years in Russia and he knows russian very well. he also told that visa to Russia is not any problem. only think you should have is proper documents,
