What is the best university and community in England to study abroad at?

I am an American college student interested in studying abroad. I wish to do so in England, but I am not sure exactly where i want to go. I would much appreciate some local insight, or help from someone who was in a similar situation as I am . I am studying Psychology if that helps.

What is the best university and community in England to study abroad at?
You will always be told that Oxford and Cambridge are the only places worth studying at in England...which plainly is not true. There's another place and I'll tell you all about it just as soon as I can remember what it's called..............just a tick.......
Reply:Oxbridge are great but the best alternative is Bath. A great city, a good uni and what a rugby team!
Reply:It all depends what you want out of your time in England. If you want to live in a student community, look for a 'campus' University (e.g. University of Warwick) where students live on one campus (or at least for part of their course) and where most of the student life is centred in one place. If you want to get a better flavour of life in general in England, look for somewhere with different campuses (e.g. University of Bristol) where students tend to be more widely dispersed and you get to live more closely with the people in the city, whether students or not.

In general, though, if you're looking for a University of England, I would suggest narrowing your search by looking at the entrance requirements for the different Universities. If you look on the UCAS website, (http://www.ucas.com/students/coursesearc... you will be able to get information on the courses available that you are interested in. Look into the entry requirements and choose the best Universities you think you can get into - generally, the better ranked a University, the better your degree will look to employers when you leave. This will help you narrow down the Universities you are truly interested in - then have a closer look at the type of lifestyle etc. they have there.

England is a very small place compared to America, so even if you're not at University in e.g. London, it's easy to get to from everywhere by train and you will be able to see all the places you want to!
Reply:definitely one of the london unis - its expencive but you will love ur time there its an amazing city x
Reply:Best university is a matter of opinion depending on subject.

But for community I would pick leeds because the people are really nice and there's loads of places to go. It's also got the cheapest accommodation in the country.

There's a leeds university and a leeds metropolitan university but I'm not sure which one is better for psychology.
