Study abroad?

I want to study abroad next year... I'm looking at Belgium but I'm not sure. I'm studying French III right now so a French speaking country would be nice.

Does anyone have any suggestions on countries or programs to go through? Any places I shouldn't go?

Study abroad?
I'm guessing you are a high school student? If you are looking for a great French experience -- and one that's a bit different -- consider Switzerland rather than France! A good portion of the country is primarily French speaking and the people there are wonderful! I've hosted three Swiss kids, repped many more and just came back from visiting! :)

As far as your program is concerned, you need to make sure it is CSIET listed (go to www.csiet.ort). There is very little oversight for those NOT on the list! You should also check with your high school counselor for a recommendation as an organization is only as good as its local representatives. Rotary will be the cheapest, but most competitive. Other reputable organizations are AFS, Aspect, 4-H and YFU.

Whichever you pick, you will need to hurry. Deadlines are looming for next year!

For lots of information on being an exchange student, check out http://www.exchangestudentworld.com/

It's written by exchange students about the entire experience from coming up with the idea to returning home.

Good luck!

Reply:You will have an amazing time almost anywhere. WWW.AFS.ORG is who I went with and I went to Chile for a year it was amazing. I now volunteer for that organization. They have a lot of countries to choose from and scholarships and things as well. I highly recommend them.
