I want to study abroad in Japan for however long but don't have the money (which is like a couple of grands) to pay for the tuition. Is there anyway I can do this. I really want to do this cause I never been to japan or out of the U.S. much so I'm eager to see what japan's culture is like. I researched and it was like 3,000 for 6 weeks, 6,000 for semester, and 9,000 for a year. That is way a lot for a lower middle classman. Is there any scholarship or tuition or help or something like that?
I want to study abroad in Japan but how?
Many exchange organizations offer scholarships to Japan. You can find a complete listing of of organizations that are certified to operate in the U.S. at www.csiet.org. a big one is offered by Kikoman (a Japanese company) for those interested in cooking and food through FCCLA. Also check with your counselor to see which programs he/she recommends.
Check the websites of each program for "scholarships."
In addition, a good organization will help you with fund raising ideas as well, plus at your age you have the opportunity to get a job to help raise money as well.
